Children's Ministry

The Children’s Ministry at Canyon Hills Community Church provides a loving, age-appropriate, spiritual environment for children from birth to fifth grade. We believe that it is possible to demonstrate the love of Christ to a child from the day of his birth. Whether you have a newborn or an active 5th grader, you can know they are being loved and taught about God and biblical truth on their level. Our desire is to stand with you in ministering to the family God has given you and to assist your family in its effort to lay a spiritual foundation that will lead your child into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Kids Missions Offering

GENERATION TO GENERATION                                                                                          From the beginning, God commanded one generation to tell the next generation... Join us in this great mission to reach another generation for Christ! "One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts." Psalm 145:4

KIDS' MISSIONS OFFERING

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...” Matthew 28:19-20. The Great Commission applies to all and is not hindered by size and age. Every two months the Children’s Ministry dedicates our kids offering to a Mission Project that helps fulfill the Great Commission. This allows our children to see how they too can help share the gospel with others through their generous giving.

For October:

Kids' Chile Trip- 2008

Have we got some exciting news to share with you! God has given us the opportunity to travel to Maipu, Chile. From November 28 to December 9 we’ll be making our seventh short term kids mission trip!  12 students, 5 teens and 7 adults make up our team, and we’re all very excited. We’re meeting every week to prepare and pray together as we learn more about the Chilean people.

During our two weeks in Chile we’ll be in the city of Maipu and then in San Luis, about 40 minutes away. Every day we’ll go into the public school to present puppet, music and drama programs for the students. In the evenings, we’ll be doing the same kinds of programs in the local plazas. On the weekends, we will join the local churches to help and encourage them.

Besides these programs to share the Good News about Jesus with other kids and their parents, we’ll be doing some service projects to help the local people and the churches there: everything from light construction to clean up. As you can see, this could be a ‘life changing experience’ for us!

Please be praying that God will use us and most of all that He will do a great thing in our hearts as we serve Him!

In Christ,
Melissa Kinman, Daniel Monroe, Molly Paulsen, Kyle Zimmerman, Lindsey Roberts, Brandon Cook, Michaela Geise, Alex Ballard, Ivana Schoop, Tyler Dunlap, Hannah Long, Triston Lee Johnson, Sarah Waltz, Matthew Owen, Allison Jewett, Jacob Graham, Stephanie Cook

Aren’t these kids too young for such a big trip?
Nearly 80% of all missionaries on the field were called to missions between the ages of 8 and 14. After hearing that, we were convinced that if these kids are not too young to be called by God, then they’re not too young to begin preparing for that call. Their parents are very supportive and excited as they wait to see what God will do in their children.

Isn’t that a lot of money to spend on a kids trip?
Each member of the team needs to raise about $1600 from various sources. They are trusting God to provide what is needed. Our feeling is that the money invested in the life of this child will reap benefits in the Kingdom of God for many years. At the very least we end up with a child who totally supports missions for the next 50 years of his life. Better yet, a child who dedicates the rest of her life to serving full time on the mission field. Either way, a great investment if you ask me!

All donations to the Kids Missions Offering during October and November
will go toward helping the Kids Chile Team with their ministry supplies.
Thank you for helping these students serve and grow!

Kids Touching the World

Over the last 7 years the kids at CHCC have been making an impact around the world, little by little... I wonder what God has planned for this generation of children and youth who are growing up looking at the world, seeing the need and discovering what they can do to bring the Good News to people everywhere!
