Dan and Nancy Clark - Returning to the States after 24 years of Missions

Dear friends, July 2008
Well, we are now in our new home, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It has been a long process to get here. We have seen God’s hand guiding us along the way. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. Here are just a few of the ways we saw God at work:

The right timing in how many things came together to make our move this summer.

  • Aimee settled into her apartment for studies at University in Aix en Provence
  • The continuing falling dollar making it $1.60 to 1 euro
  • End of term for Nancy’s intern, Debora
  • No other full time workers for the Marseille team
  • Andre needing help for speech problems and better school situation
  • Job offer for Daniel, from a friend, in the line of work he did before
  • Our Marseille apartment sold in less than 2 months
  • Idaho cost of living is lower than Seattle area
  • Schools are smaller, more individual attention for Andre

It was hard to say goodbye to our friends and co-workers and contacts! It is a drastic life style change for the whole family.

  • Changing countries, after 24 years overseas
  • Changing jobs,
  • Daniel will return to his job as a machinist
  • Nancy will wait and see how the Lord leads
  • Leaving Aimee in France
  • Leaving friends and contacts (we know only 3 couples in our new area)
  • Leaving our French church family – Now we need to find a new church
  • Andre has never lived in a house with a yard (He is thrilled)
  • Andre will have to do his schoolwork in English (he has always done it in French)

So these are big changes, but we are looking forward to see how God will lead and help us. Our hopes are in Him.  We are so thankful for the encouraging “send offs” that our contacts, our French church family, and our Mission in France and in the US gave us. It all helped us to make closure for this big part of our lives. As we mentioned before, we are still with the Mission until the end of September. We need this time to visit our supporters and supporting churches. Our Mission has asked us to become “Partners”, as of October 08. This new status for us, will keep us linked with the AWM Mission. We may be called upon to represent the Mission at Conferences or Universities. We may also lead short-term teams, recruiting, or be advising. I, Nancy, feel a burden to recruit for workers for France. So we will see how this will develop.  It has been recommended that we attend a “Re-Entry” program as a family for a week in Colorado, after we have been back a while. This is to help us in making the transition from missionary life in a foreign country to life again in our “home” country.  So please be praying for us as we transition into our new life. We will really miss France and our ministry and our friends. So pray for us as we find “our place” here and make new friends and find where God in leading in some sort of ministry here.

We will be in the Redmond/Bothell area from August 1st to August 18th.   So if you want to contact us to set up an appointment, you can call us at 208-215-8110 or 208-215-8111 (We only have Verizon cell phones so you call us wherever we are) or by email nclarkinfrance@gmail.com We look forward to seeing you soon!  Please note our new address:
