More information on Initiative 1109:
- Initiative 1109 is written to place control of opt-in sex education content for grades 5-12 at the local school board and community level.
- Initiative 1109 places the focus of sex education on healthy outcomes and eliminates the new state law’s alignment to teaching content and world views aligned with special interest groups.
- Gathering the required signatures for Initiative 1109 will place the proposed legislation before the Washington State Legislature to either vote into law or to be placed on the next statewide general election ballot for a vote by the people.
