____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Counseling Ministry FAQs

Canyon Hills Counseling Ministry provides thousands of hours of free biblical counseling each year to those seeking God's answers to the questions and problems in their lives.

Who can come for counseling?

At this time, we offer counseling for individuals and couples who are members or regular attenders who call Canyon Hills their church home.  You may also scroll to the next section to see the HOPE groups open to the community.

What kind of counseling is offered?

Counseling is made available to help with any problems you may be facing – marriage, parenting, addictions, disorders, fears, anger, grief, depression, anxiety, etc. Our counseling approach is based upon the truths of the Bible. Since God has fully provided His answers to life and all of the life’s problems in the Bible, it is superior to any other source of counsel. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God’s answer to bear upon the difficulties you are facing.

Who are the counselors?

The counselors at Canyon Hills consist of trained pastors and other qualified individuals trained in biblical counseling. [Note: This training is through the Association of Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and is NOT certified with the State of Washington]

What does the counseling cost?

There is a one-time $25 cancellation deposit due at the time of the first counseling session.  Books and other required text are additional costs to consider.  The one-hour counseling sessions themselves are provided at no additional cost.

When will I be counseled?

Counseling is available weekdays by appointments only.  We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings with limited time slots.  You must commit to a weekly time slot.

How long will counseling last?

Counseling sessions normally last one hour each week, for an average of 12 weeks.  The number of sessions may be shortened or lengthened depending upon one's progress.

For more information or to find out how to get the process started, contact us by phone at 425-488-4121 or e-mail counseling@chccbw.org.  Confidential Fax  425-368-2680.

Please open, print and fill out the Personal Data Inventory form and return it to the counseling department as soon as possible. This must be completed, and all pages signed, before counseling can proceed.  Use the confidential email or fax listed above.  Once received, the counseling office will contact you regarding your request. [For those between ages 8 and 17, please fill out our Adolescent Personal Data Inventory.]

Pre-Marital Counseling

We offer an eight-week course for pre-marital counseling.  We connect couples looking to get married with another couple who will walk them though curriculum.  This must be completed prior to getting married.  Members and those getting married by a Canyon Hills Pastor will be given priority in scheduling.  It can often take several weeks to connect you with a counselor, so inquire early!  Email counseling@chccbw.org to receive information on how to fill out paperwork and purchase materials.

All groups are open to the community.  For information about HOPE Groups contact the counseling office by phone at 425-488-4121 or by email: counseling@chccbw.org.  All HOPE Groups meet in the Counseling and Outreach Building, located next door to the main church building.
